The Bboyspot team could not miss out one of the dopest jams in Italy called Cioccolata Foundation II that took place as the part of the traditional Italian festival, in a beautiful north part of azzura country near Brescia, Italy. The most attractive was the 3 on 3 battles, but the audience could also enjoy the kids battles in 1 on 1 and 2 on 2 competitions. We must say that little Italians got mad skills and after a few years they may represent their country on a top level. Absolutely biggest and baddest among kids were bboy Emil Power and b-girl Alessandra (winners of 2 on 2 kids battles), whose combination of amazing power moves, with style, and musicality was getting the crowd hype during the whole jam.

In the main 3 on 3 competition, around 40 crews showed their skills in demo battles. Crews were primarily from Italy, but there were also some international crews including Swiss, Slovak, Spanish, and Belgium bboys.  The judges (Mr. Keyz, Meen 187 and Yayo) chose the best 15 crews from prelims and 1 crew (bboy Eddy Twister – SuperElastikBboyPlastik Italy, bboy Nagasaki SuperElastikBboyPlastik Italy and Miniboj Killa – Hasta La Muerte Slovakia) was awarded with the direct spot at top 16, since they had an exhibition battle against the judges that you can see below:

Top 16 and top 8 battles were hype resulting in semifinales with Ormus Force (Italy) against Bandits (Italy) and One Peace Crew (Belgium) against SuperElastikBboyPlastik (Italy).

The spots in the finale battle were taken by the Bandits (Italy) and One Peace Crew (Belgium).

The Belgians were very well prepared for this battle with many routines.  They finally took the win and won the first place with prize money of 2,000 Euros. Congrats!

Overall, the jam was dope, with good cyphers, dope set up, and nice crowd.  We are looking forward to coming again next year!

UNBREAKABLE 2010

The Bboy Spot Europe recently attended this jam and here is our short report on how everything went.  The event took place in Leuven, Belgium on March 20^th, 2010.  There may have been over 1000 attendees at the jam, making it probably the biggest bboy event in Belgium.  Besides the major and most attractive 1 on 1 Unbreakable World Championship that took in the evening, there were a number of other competitions during the day such as 1 on 1 Bgirl battles, Kids battles, Circle Princ qualification, and a Eurobattle qualification, which was taken by Rugged Solutions from the Netherlands.  Daytime competitions were accompanied by workshops with bboyz like Thesis, Kleju, or Gracie, that concentrated on different aspects of bboying, from toprock, footwork, go downs, thru musicality, transitions, freezes, to blow-ups, and power moves. 

The event took place in a sport arena with a setup stage, allowing everybody in the audience to clearly see what was going on at the battlefield.  For the evening 1 on 1 championship, the following bboyz were invited:

The Bboy Spot Europe

The event took place in a brand new looking youth center called Zappa, which had a lot of room for “raw circles”. Cyphers were going down all day long. Aside of the Bboy Spot stand, RMC Clothing from Belgium, and the Fluido Wear from Italy set up their booths at the jam.

For the main event, 3 on 3 battles, six crews were invited (Rugged Solutions-Netherlands, Team Shmetta – Belgium, Fusion Rockers – Spain, Fluido Team – Italy, 59 Crew – France, One Peace – Belgium) and there were two spots reserved for the qualification winners. For the prelims, 29 crews signed up. Among them, only with 2 bboyz, James (Hustle Kidz) with a little guy El Nino en Thone made it to top 4 of the prelims. They were killing it big time. Worth mentioning is also Xisco with two little guys Leelou and Justen (Hustle Kidz), who made it to top 8 of the prelims. Obviously, the Netherlands may expect some hardcore rep in the near future. Finally, six invited crews were joined by the prelims winners, Skilla Beasts and Nasty Flavor (only with 2 bboyz). The judges for the main event were Ruffneck Attack’s Pluto from Ukraine, LA Breaker’s Sammy Styles from USA, and Vagabound’s Lamine from France.

In the quaterfinals, Fusion Rockers took it against 59 Crew, Skilla Beasts lost to One Peace crew, Team Shmetta took the win against Rugged Solutions, and Nasty Flavor lost to Italian Fluido team. Semifinals were hype with Fusion Rockers beating One Peace crew, and Team Shmetta winning over the Fluido Team. In the finals, Fusion Rockers battled Belgium’s Shmetta. Fusion Rockers with their routines and Gracy’s individual skills finally took the win and took 750 Euros back to Spain.

Overall, the event was dope. The venue was fresh, drinks and food were available for a reasonable price, cyphers were ill. There were 500+ bboys and bgirls from all over Europe. We are definitely going there next time again. Props to Jebel and Dziri for throwing it down.

Reign, Orlando’s Premier Lifestyle Boutique, is a shop that carries a wide variety of clothing, shoes, accessories and collectible items. You can find a very diverse line-up of brands from Acrylick to Tokidoki including local brands such as NufSed, Fresh Intellex, and Reign’s own clothing line-up. When we got there, James was runnin’ the store and we got to see some of the new fresh gear on display at their store. At the front, a vast selection of new and classic kicks greet customers walking by the counter. A few steps in and you’ll find anything from Flud Watches and Kid Robot toys to must have DVD’s and even a rare collectible Initial D RC car set was found tucked away in the corner of a shelf.

Throughout the rest of the store along the walls and in the center of the store are all of the t-shirts, pants, fitted caps, beanies, pillows and even canvas paintings. Either way if whether you’re looking to freshen up your look or find something to do after picking up some boba tea from Lollicup down the plaza – definitely stop by and take a look inside and see what’s new.

The very next day Reign and Deep Vision hosted their first Simply Clean meet which was to showcase and represent the Florida car scene with some of the cleanest and high-quality rides local to Orlando and surrounding areas. If you’re any bit familiar with the HellaFlush Scene then this meet should have met every expectation. Literally everything was there from Hondas and Nissans to Volkswagens and Audis. The parking lot was packed and DJ Sureshot and DJ Adil were on the one’s and two’s throughout the entire show. Reign also sold hot cocoa behind the DJ stand to keep everyone from staying in their cars or driving home. All in all the meet was definitely fresh and if you’re into the scene you should definitely check out the next meet which the date is still TBA.

Overall we had a good weekend and left soon after the show.
